Tuk-Tuk is the three wheeled open-air motorised vehicle. The name comes from the engine sound “tuk tuk”. Tuk-Tuks offer an interesting ride! It best for short trips during peak hours and cost less than a taxi. All prices are negotiable so bargain.
Taxis are plentiful everywhere. Start with a price of 35 baht. Some drivers speak a little English but you should have the destination name in the Thai language to avoid problems of directions.
Bangkok’s public transport service is inexpensive and provides transportation in the city and suburbs. Air-conditioned buse fair is 6-16 baht (depending on distance).
Air-conditioned Microbuses at a flat 20 baht guarantee a seat. Non air-conditioned buses are extremely crowded during peak periods and cost a flat rate of 3.50 baht.
Destinations are written in Thai, so you should obtain a bus route map (available from the hotel and bookshops).
